What is the Life in the UK test?

From preparation to proof
How the process works
There are four practical stages. Knowing them in advance makes the test feel much more manageable.
Book
Use the official GOV.UK booking service. Book at least three days in advance and choose from more than 30 UK test centres.
Take the test
Bring the original identification document used for your booking. Your photograph will be taken at the test centre.
Keep your result
If you pass, you receive a unique reference number. The Home Office uses it to confirm your result during your application.
What you are learning
A broad syllabus, made navigable.
The test can move quickly between subjects. One question may concern the Norman Conquest, while the next may ask about Parliament, a national festival or a civic responsibility.
